*Offering Envelopes – The offering envelopes for 2016 are out in the narthex. Please pick yours up this month.
*The Essential Question Challenge – On January 10th, we began The Essential Question Challenge - a journey through the book of Acts that builds on the question the Apostle Paul asked, “What shall I do, Lord?” (Acts 22:10). This 10-week Bible reading experience will help you see that God has a mission for all of his people—whether it’s to serve him faithfully in the marketplace, in the home, in school, in the military or someplace else. There will be five readings each week and a Sunday morning sermon on the main idea of those readings. Beginning next week we will have three small groups per week – Sundays at 10:20 a.m., Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. and Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. All groups meet at Christ Lutheran and discuss the weekly readings from Acts. Please join us or start your own group.
*Men’s Fellowship - Men’s Fellowship will meet on Thursday, January 21st at 8:30 a.m. in the Heritage Room. All men are welcome!
*Couple’s Fellowship - The Couples Fellowship group will meet Sunday, January 17th from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. There will be a light supper and a time of fellowship in the Heritage Room. Please sign up in the church office. All couples are welcome!
*God Sightings - God is at work everywhere, but we often miss it, because we are not looking. In an effort to help train our eyes to look for God's presence in the world around us, we are going to be setting aside time during Sunday morning worship to share 'God sightings.' Everyone is encouraged to take a minute to write down one way they saw God during the week. There are sheets in each pew for you to use and turn in. God sightings can be just about anything: the smile of a child, a beautiful sunset, helping someone across the street, caring for someone in pain, passing a test, experiencing God's peace, etc. We hope that as we hear each other's 'God sightings,' it will become easier for us to recognize God's action in our lives and in the world around us. You will find what you are looking for...so look for God. (Jeremiah 29:13)
*Mitten Tree - Thank you to all who generously donated items to our Mitten, Glove, Sock, Scarf and Hat tree during the holiday season. We received 117 items and sets. They were divided between Fillmore Central Schools, Fillmore County Foodshelf in Preston, Social Services of Fillmore County and Open Hand Midway in St. Paul.
